In the new #gardenofcuriosities exhibition (curated by @danthompson33.bsky.social) at @thebaytrust.bsky.social #PinesGarden there’s a little bit on necessary movement of populations from places destabilised by a changing climate. This article makes for timely reading alongside it IMHO.

Fantastic to see the #CoatOfHopes visited @thebaytrust.bsky.social #PinesGarden last weekend. Made originally for a pilgrimage from Newhaven (Sussex) to #COP26 it’s not had too much #BlueSky coverage, though I noticed both @bradfordcathedral.org.uk & @myzerocarbon.org have posted on it recently :-)

Sun-lit paved area (brick / cobble-shaped stones, a range of greys, reds & browns in colour, and dark-brown pointing) onto which has been thrown thin shadows from wooden roof-struts, radiating from a circular “hub” (also made of wood) - all part of a structure called ‘The Yurt’ which, at the time, was without its fabric covering. To the bottom right of the image are more closely lined thin shadows, cast by a repurposed pub garden bench. Some tree shadows are also visible in the centre lower left of the image.

Yurt shadows at the @thebaytrust.bsky.social #PinesGarden today. On Saturday morning this (and much else) was covered with chalk-infused mud from a flash-flood. I only aided with some shovel & wheelbarrow work that day; colleagues then & since have done a grand clean-up, so we can reopen tomorrow.

A good bit of CPD for me this AM thanks to the @asbpuk.bsky.social #LimeGroup webinar. Peter Rollinson, #MikeWye, gave an insightful & engaging intro to lime building products; one of his slides included a happenstance chalk landscape view including the @thebaytrust.bsky.social #PinesGarden too! :-)

Dark, thin, wooden struts fan out, at a shallow descending angle, from a circle made of the same wood. To the right those struts connect to a larger diameter wooden circle. These timbers are covered by material in summer months so as to form a tented roof. The timbers are currently uncovered. Between the timbers is seen a pale blue sky with some feint cloud on the right of the image and tops of some trees. There is a halo effect around the sun, which is concealed by the top of a tree which rises towards the wooden circle mentioned previously.

Image shows four bands of pale recycled bricks (part of a wall) in a slightly wavy line, running from left to right (or vice-versa); between each layer, embedded in the mortar, are the bases of old glass bottles. The top layer of bottle bases are brown, mid are clear and the bottom set are all green. All three glass bottle layers are informally wavy too.

In between completing some grant claims and planning for our next #generationrestoration project at @thebaytrust.bsky.social, I took a photo of some old bottles embedded in one of the #PinesGarden walls this afternoon. A little space :-)

A good day, earlier this month at @thebaytrust.bsky.social, welcoming John D.Liu to the #PinesGarden. Ecosystem Restoration Camps and #biochar (see photos with some of my colleagues in the quoted post!) among the focus. Made an intro to the Cross-Channel #Geopark project too. #GenerationRestoration.
