As if things weren’t bad, some politicians in the US are proposing culling of seals and sea lions to protect salmon fisheries. This is NOT a scientific evidence-based solution. Join and raise your voice against this nonsense #PinnipedFacts

What are our elephant seals up to? Well, two of them enjoy the Pacific. Three of them are very happy in the fjords and channels of Tierra del Fuego and the last one decided he had enough of coastal waters and recently ventured into the Atlantic #PinnipedFacts #AnimalTracking 🦭 🌍🧪

Elephant seals 🦭 have a lot of blood with a lot of red blood cells (RBC)🩸 with lots of haemoglobin to store lots of oxygen. That way they can dive for 20 min (max > 2 hr!). That whitish layer between plasma and RBC are white blood cells and platelets #AnilloSEALS #PinnipedFacts 🧪#MarMam

Perhaps due to the lack of land predators, Galapagos sea lions tend to not be shy. Interactions with humans are increasing, and they are being harassed more frequently by tourists and dogs. Keep a safe distance #PinnipedFacts 🦑🌏🧪#ExeterCEC
