Mahalo nui loa #AmericanPhytopathologicalSociety #SustainableAg
A meaningful moment in my plant pathology journey, fueled by my passion for nematology, bacteriology, and biotech. Grateful for support from UCD Plant Pathology, APS, industry partners, and especially the guidance and lab support from Drs. Shahid Siddique & Gitta Coaker. #PlantHealth2025 🪱🦠🌱🌺
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Honolulu for #PlantHealth2025!
Save the date and plan to join us in 2026!

Aloha #PlantHealth2025! Mahalo for the fun times, lovely stories, good questions, cool ideas, and tropical vibes.
#PlantHealth2026 will be in Rhode Island - hopefully we will have more folks on the skyline by then!!
This afternoon, Jan Kreuze from CIP and Dr. Mamta Sharma from ICRISAT took the stage at #PlantHealth2025.
We want to know—what did you enjoy the most from this Plenary Session?
#plantscience #plantpathology
When I don't know what session to go to at a #PlantHealth2025 meeting, I go to one of the two student spotlight sessions (Melhus or division winners).
There are always some really great talks in these, even when the topic is not something I typically look for. This one was so well delivered!
A woman presenting at a lectern with a slide showing comic book styled drawing of a fungus super villain and its symptoms on peanuts
Alexi Dong brings the energy to her Melhus symposium talk on the last day of #PlantHealth2025! 🦸🦹
This comic-book style talk on peanut leaf spot is a delightfully fun take on classic plant pathology concepts. 🥜
What can change the battle of fungicide versus pathogen? Resistance loci!
Don’t miss today’s #PlantHealth2025 Plenary Session. Join us at 12:15 p.m. to hear from our two speakers, Jan Kreuze from CIP and Dr. Momta Sharma from ICRISAT.
Like and share this post if you’re looking forward to this session!
A round table of people discussing
Idea Cafe at #PlantHealth2025 - how do we describe microbial dynamics beyond pathogens?
Dysbiosis, pathobiome, etc.
Rethinking terms to accurately capture what we are observing during microbial interactions contributing to plant disease. 🌱🦠
Congratulations Vanessa Louks who won our booth prize pack at #planthealth2025! Have fun with the LEGO plant set and YETI mug!
Robert Kemerait ties everything together when presenting a USDA colleagues talk on peanut smut. Gov scientists unable to travel to the meeting. This work is of necessity international. Pathogens and external factors do not know borders. #PlantHealth2025
Jamie Rhoads gives a moving talk on peanut production via the peanut innovation lab. Formerly USAID work, good work that needs to continue. #PlantHealth2025
Next up is Jane Marian S Luis describing the impact of climate calamities in the Philippines. #PlantHealth2025.
Kim Eang Tho covers similar territory with a focus on the CLM Mekong subregion. #PlantHealth2025
Stephen Wegulo highlights the intersection of human factors (poverty, violence, war, climate change) and plant diseases leading to food insecurity. #PlantHealth2025
Important session at #PlantHealth2025 to start the final day. "A world in crisis: Impact on food security... from the front lines".
