As #PlasticRecyclingWeek continues, we shift our focus to the importance of making sure the right materials are going to the proper recyclers. Our Denver, PA sorting facility helps with that by separating PP for our operations while sorting out non-PP material for other recyclers.

The text reads, "We all need good information to make good decisions. Get the facts about PET (polyethylene terephthalate, #1 plastic," followed by:
MYTH: It's better to choose aluminum cans over PET bottles. FACT: A typical PET soda bottle has less than half the total greenhouse gas footprint of an aluminum can.
MYTH: PET plastic is bad for the environment. FACT: PET bottles have a lower environmental impact than aluminum and glass.
MYTH: PET bottles are the most common form of litter. FACT: Cigarettes are actually the world's leading form of litter.
MYTH: I'm contributing to ocean debris when I use a PET bottle. FACT: PET is made to be remade; it can be recycled over and over again.
MYTH: PET bottles in landfills can leach into water and contaminate it. FACT: PET bottles are chemically inert; they pose no risk of leaching.
MYTH: BPA is present in plastic water bottles. FACT: PET has never contained BPA.
