At Christmas, a crate arrived from Japan, sent by my friend Nick. When I opened it, a sealed Poké Ball rolled out. I released it, and with a flash and a burst of flame, a young #Charmander emerged — a beautiful Christmas gift, whom I will call Saika 再火.

Girella lives in my water garden. On May nights, its body glows in the water due to the fireflies it swallows, still visible through its translucent skin. It's not unusual to see it trying to catch the very fireflies already in its stomach.
