A landscape photograph with a ratio of 1/1.5 showing the ruins of a neo-gothic stone built castle at the top of a hill. To the left is the main body of the complex, a battered three-bay three-storey block incorporating a round-tower centrally in the plan, adjoining a crenellated single-storey bay with a large external flue, and to the right a crenellated three-stage tower, in the form of an ancient Irish tower house.
One of the most astonishing ruins in the country; Dromore Castle, 1865-70, designed in the Gothic Revival style by E.W. Godwin for Lord Glentworth, the 3rd Earl of #Limerick
Incredibly, its roof was removed in 1950, less than 100 years after its construction

A photograph, with a landscape ratio of 1/1.3, of the interior of a stone built Gothic Revival church on the grounds of Kylemore Abbey, in Connemara. The photo is taken looking directly up the incense of the space, with includes a row of 7 timber benches, each with a cushioned kneeling shelf. It is a symmetric space, with 3 pointed arch windows on with side, each with 3 vertical panes and with a circular and ancillary openings for glazing to complete the arch. There is an ochre coloured tiled floor, with a black metal floor vent on either side, separated from the external walls by the width of a tile. Polychromatic marble pilasters rise on both sides, of marble from all four provences of Ireland, rising to an elaborately vaulted ceiling.
The fabulous Gothic Revival church on the Kylemore Abbey estate, 1877-81, by James Franklin Fuller. I have read it described as a grand cathedral in miniature, which is exactly right.
