A large hawk sits facing the camera on a horizontal main branch of a bare tree. S/he has her head turned to her right giving us a good facial profile of her hooked beak. The head is a rich dark brown and the chest is tan with some light brown horizontal banding. The wings frame her chest with dark brown. A few talons are seen gripping the trunk beneath her. Blue skies form the complete backdrop as we are looking way up to see her.
