Brown pencil drawing of my character, Pudgy Horse — a baroque type horse with luxuriant mane and tail and deliberately exaggerated proportions including an extremely generous girth and short, delicate legs with dainty hooves — seen from behind in three-quarter view, but with the head turned back towards the viewer, or towards the red-crowned crane standing on Pudge's hindquarters with its beak tucked between its wings.

'Why do you believe you're ugly?' asked Pudge. 'Assume for a moment that those blights are more magnified to you than to others.'

'Perhaps,' said the crane, 'because I have never once been beautiful in the eyes of those I longed desperately to be.'

Beyond them, a small roundel with clusters of cherry blossoms in the rain serves as a background.
