Pueo are important in Hawaiian culture and mythology as it is believed that Aumākua (ancestors) may take the form of Pueo! Rowlet has leaves sprouting from its feathered chest, which resemble a bowtie, enabling efficient photosynthesis! Owls can fly silently, due to their long feathers!
