The image captures a golden, speckled pygmy squid clutching a nearly invisible cleaner shrimp. The shrimp’s body is mostly transparent with faint dark spots, resembling species often seen living with sea anemones. The squid’s vibrant green eye and delicate arms are wrapped tightly around its prey. This all unfolds atop a textured coral reef, with colors ranging from tan and white to soft purples and reds.

This is a double take. A Pygmy Squid has captured a Glass shrimp. Taken at night and I wish I had snorted, but he wouldn’t hold still.
