A helicopter view of Arctic Station for a new group of researcher that arrive yesterday from #Ilulissat. Perfect flying conditions which certainly have not the the case for while. The #DiskoBay ice cover is breaking up and allows for maritime transport as well. #Qeqertarsuaq

There are not many places where you can ride a wave in Greenland. If you exclude calving glaciers, swells generated by winds are rare. Except for one magical surf break on Disko Island.

Farewell to #SarfaqIttuk as it carries our Christmas guest back to #Nuuk after a cozy visit filled with skiing, snowmobiles, and delicious meals. In 9 days, it returns to #Qeqertarsuaq for my trip back to #Aasiaat - hoping the western sea ice won’t close the harbor!

Off to #Qeqertarsuaq for 3 weeks at the #ArcticStation - just me, my girlfriend, and endless Arctic silence. Christmas, NYE, and a writing project to finish. Feels like The Shining meets True Crime, but hopefully without the plot twists. Here’s to focus, coziness, and creativity!
