#Quantel 2103-87 Clipnet P2. Allowed the Quantel Henry and Editbox to share video from another machine in real time over a 1Gbit fiber network. Looks to be dated around the middle of 2000. 14 layer PCB too which is impressive!

I am trawling through 1000s of #Quantel documentation files and found this about Paintbox Options. 'Options' was a way to buy a cut-down V-Series Paintbox but you could add on functions as you needed them saving you buying the full version. It shows a base Paintbox at £23,500, dated August 1994.

I have been gifted with original old documents that allow you to record and document amazing old tech from the 1980s... This is one page from the #Quantel DVM-8000/1 (Mirage) Installation manual from 1987 converted from it's original MS Word for DOS format... wow😍

Can anyone help here, we're trying to identify this beige / turquoise box shown in a #Quantel video. It's inside their Graphic Paintbox 2 Demo suite in Newbury so might be print/photo related. The video dates to 1996. There's a Mac there for scale. Any ideas welcome!

The #Quantel EM2077-76 Backstore 2. a later revision card for the Quantel Graphic Paintbox 2, 384 32mbit DRAMS for a total of 1.5Gb memory, it dates from around 1996/1997. The GPB2 didn't do video graphics it did print graphics in CMYK and needed a LOT of memory!

Helping out a friend in Cologne fixing their #Quantel Graphic Paintbox 2. It has been broken for over 11 years! 😲 Quantel only ever sold 38 of these machines so it is a real privilege to see one running.

Another #Quantel project being worked on an interface for the Quantel Tablet/Keyboard. This vampires the data from the tablet and exposes it as a Windows HID. As the project progresses it should allow modern peripherals to work on a real Quantel Paintbox. Big thanks to MerseyViking for the work👍

An open 1U rackmount case containing a Sony MO disk drive and a Quantel circuit board
#Quantel Remote MO was a 1U rackmount box that contained a Snetcom board and a Sony MO drive. It boots over the Picturenet network and allows all Picturenet users access to the MO drive. Snetcom is also used inside Paintbox, Hal, Henry etc as the network interface. This particular one is from 1997.

The #Quantel Paintbox in the early 1990s had a built in feature called VERIFY, it would write data into one of the stores and then manipulate it using the hardware and then read back a checksum of the result. If it matched it passed VERIFY. This test is running on a Quantel Harriet from March 1993.
