The overcast day and my propensity to just shoot wild and ransack in Lightroom creates more graining from an unsteady hand, poor ISO setting, and just an old camera that hates anything that isn't broad daylight.
This yellow 4C has appeared often at this particular Cars & Coffee event in Brookfield, WI.
Trio of Italian cars all available around the same time with some very different philosophies. The QP is the long lived 4-door grand touring sedan, the Italian S-Class with none of the reliability, comfort, or build quality. But it makes sounds, has lot of leather, and looks sexy. The 4C, a mid-engine 4-cylinder sports car and Alfa's so-far last mass produced sports car. A unique platform, a shared engine, and a compromised ride that can't decide if its a GT car or a track car and tries to be a bit of both while excelling as neither. And the Grand Turismo. Sports car looks and sounds, but probably too much of a GT car stock, making it reportedly worse on a track than a Jaguar XK. This one may be modified, however. And it still looks sexy, even with the red wheels and Martini graphics.
I believe I spoke to the owner of this QP once, and he used to track it. Supposedly, it was actually quite formidable stock. Maserati usually positions this as an alternative to the S-Class or 7-Series, and it seems they go more for the sport saloon vibe than luxo-barge vibe, which is a nice alternative. However, the owner said he car is still very heavy, and it ate through brakes very quickly during track days, hence the eventual retirement.
Mn, yes. Come. Indulge in more Maserati with me. And some Alfa Romeo, too. And sure, some Z4 too, I guess.
