Das Foto zeigt im Vordergrund das Alai Darwaza, ca. 1311 erbaut. Es nimmt eine quadratische Fläche ein, wurde aus rotem Sandstein und weißem Marmor errichtet. Im Hintergrund ist das Qutub Minar zu sehen, erbaut ca. 1192, welches über fünf Stufen verfügt. Die erste wird vom Tor verdeckt. Bei den ersten drei Stufen wechseln sich gelber und roter Sandstein ab. Die letzten beiden Stufen des sich nach oben verjüngenden Turms sind aus weißem Marmor. Der Komplex gehört seit 1993 zum Unesco Weltkulturerbe.
