During these meetings we reflected on #R2P20, including lessons learned, the importance of gender justice, and equal application of international humanitarian and human rights laws. At R2P20 commitments must now translate into concrete action.

This morning we gathered #R2P Focal Points in NY for an energizing breakfast convo during #UNGA80. Our ED @savitapawnday.bsky.social briefed members alongside UN SA on Prevention of Genocide Chaloka Beyani & UN SA on R2P Mô Bleeker on #R2p20, atrocity prevention & #UN80 reforms.

At the #UNGA80 ministerial-level meeting on #R2P20, our ED @savitapawnday.bsky.social warned that #R2P has been “painfully tested” amid atrocities in 🇵🇸🇲🇲🇸🇩🇸🇾🇭🇹 and more. Early warning must become early action. Courage cannot wait for convenience.
