Fae's Vtuber model next to the cover of Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert
GODS DAMNED I LOVE A POLYCULE. Wicked Beauty might be my favorite entry in the Dark Olympus series because I think it shakes up the formula in so many ways. We have our first ongoing queer relationship, first entry without the Dimitrous as main characters, the setting is different, we have a new external threat - there's just so much Wicked Beauty sets up in such a wonderful way. I'm also weak for any tournament saga. Helen would be a great lead by herself, but you add in the dynamic and foils of Achilles and Patroclus and it's just perfect. I could go on for so long about how the characters' inner journeys play with the external but I just want people to read this one for themselves 5/5
Fae's Vtuber model next to the cover of Radiant Sin by Katee Robert
Radiant Sin takes Dark Olympus into whodunnit territory to great success. And while I feel Apollo isn't the most compelling of the 13 Cassandra makes up for it. One thing I wish this book did was focus more on the intricacies of the partygoers as a whole, most of what we learn comes from reputation alone and one or two key conversations that Cassandra picks up. Where Radiant Sin does its best work is in the bedroom, or closet, or couch, but when those mystery moments pop up it's a lot of fun. 4/5
The best thing about #WickedBeauty and #RadiantSin is how much they shake up the formula for the #DarkOlympus series. A tournament arc and a murder mystery in my romance novel? Yes please. Wicked Beauty also has some of the best polyam rep I've ever read so double points there. #bookreview
