This is a graphic advertising our handbill for students. To the right is an image of a pile of Raise the Bar buttons. The text reads: The Admin always cries poor, but OCAD earned $27,542,411 in surpluses over the pandemic on the backs of faculty and students. It’s time to pay that forward and Raise the Bar! Support OCADFA’s Bargaining Mandate to Raise the Bar for students.
Over 70% of faculty report increased workloads are impacting the quality of course-delivery and their ability to support students. Students are having a hard time finding faculty supervisors because the Administration doesn’t value this labour when it comes to assigning individual workloads. We need to defend studio-based learning! Studio-based learning with plenty of direct contact with instructors is what makes OCAD unique amongst Ontario’s universities. OCADFA’s working conditions are student learning conditions, which is why we need your support to Raise the Bar!
This is a graphic for our Raise the Bar campaign. It has variations of our Raise the Bar logo along the top and the text reads:
The OCAD University Faculty Association (OCADFA) represents all faculty and academic staff at OCAD. Our collective agreement expired on June 30 and we’ve been attempting to negotiate a new agreement that would Raise the Bar! for our members, and our students. OCAD lags far behind other universities in its working conditions, benefits, and pay. And falling further behind. The percentage of FT permanent faculty at OCAD has fallen from 71% to 37% since we became a university 20 years ago, and class sizes have ballooned by 30% since the start of the pandemic.
OCAD’s faculty, academic staff, and students deserve better.
#RaiseTheBarOCADU and the OCADFA logo are at the bottom of the graphic.
