Happening now: 100s of Jewish community members from over 30 congregations + organizations -- organized by T'ruah, @theracgram, & @jalsa_boston -- gathered outside of ICE HQ in Burlington, MA. We are marking Tisha B’Av – the saddest day in the Jewish calendar – with a call to #RebuildSanctuary.
A light skinned person holds a sign in Hebrew and English saying "You shall love the immigrant."
Two light skinned rabbis wear traditional Jewish prayer shawls. One speaks, and one provides sign language translation.
Gathering attendees wear Jewish prayer shawls and carry signs saying "Build Sanctuary Not Prisons" and "Dignity Not Deportations"
More than 30 Jewish congregations and organizations are participating today in the gathering to #RebuildSanctuary in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors. Standing with marginalized communities is a Jewish value.
HAPPENING NOW: On the Jewish holiday of Tisha B’Av, which mourns the destruction of the Temples in Jerusalem, we call on our leaders to #RebuildSanctuary and resist the federal assault on the dignity, safety, and well-being of immigrants in our community.
