A small brown and white sparrow perches at the top of a thin bush, their dark brown back showing the folded wings and long notched tail. The head is turned to the right, showing off the distinctive white and black stripes over their head and the small little orange beak extending in front of a small black eye.

A medium black hooded bird with a white chest and wing and long black tail (the dim sunlight through the clouds showing the blue iridescence on the tail) perches amid the pale green sagebrush that fills the image.

A large bird perches on the metal brace of a power pole, it's dark brown back towards the camera and the tell-tale red tail peaking out from under the folded wings. The bird is turned to the left, a dark eye overlooking a sharp hooked beak as it gazes into the sagebrush below.

A medium brown speckled bird grips to the bare branches of a bush, the black V "necklace" partially hidden by the twigs, and the plain brown head turned slightly towards the camera. A long tail reveals the red base and black tips that give this bird it's red-shafted distinction.

A few of the birds seen today. Was looking for the bald eagles that start showing up this time of year, but wasn't able to spot one this trip.
