En el mundo académico lo de #RejectionIsTheRule no va solo por los papers y los proyectos... a mi quien más me rechaza es el departamento de asuntos económicos cuando solicito el reembolso después de algún desplazamiento 😅 (Por suerte al final siempre se acaba resolviendo...)

Two PhD studentship applications, both rejected. It's disheartening, especially for the fantastic student who put so much work & hope into the proposals. I still believe in them and our project. But belief doesn't pay wages & I don't have much else to offer right now. #rejectionistherule

Paper rejected today after journal editor had asked for minor revisions. New reviewer's comments 1/2 length of our manuscript. Editor mentioned, but didn't share, "conversations among the editorial team and confidential comments" as a factor in the decision.

I got a big rejection today, for something I thought would be a "yes". Fairly gutted tonight. But I'm not after pity, just here to remind people that #RejectionIsTheRule in academia. Celebrate the wins, but talk about the losses too.
