I was looking forward to this game but it was another disappointing smash em, bash em on a humid afternoon with Ulster coming off second best. bobby O'Callaghan sprints clear for Munster's opening try Munster opened the scoring at the end of the first quarter as winger Bobby O’Callaghan sprinted clear from deep after an interception.

U18 Club Interprovincial: Ulster 19 Munster 27 We, eventually, caught up with the Irish U18 clubs Interprovincial Series match between Ulster and Munster on the artificial pitch at Newforge on Saturday afternoon. I missed the start of this one as I was sat at the bottom end of the grass pitch watching the end of the mighty Larne Ladies hockey match against Pegasus as I waited for the teams to come out as no one told me they were using two pitches for the rugby!

Ulster U18 Clubs pick took on Munster at Newforge in the Irish Clubs U18 Interpros on Saturday

U18 Schools Interprovincial: Ulster 35 Munster 23 We caught up with this Irish Schools U18 Interprovincial match between Ulster and Munster at Newforge Sports Center on Saturday afternoon. Munster got off to the best of starts with an interception try from Najim Jagena, converted by Daniel Murphy, for a 0 - 7 lead. Najim Jagena enjoyed his try for munster after 2 minutes of play. Ulster replied 9 minutes later after a period of pressure in the Munster 22 ended when James Wells spotted a gap to sneak over close to the posts for James McMillan to convert.

Ulster U18 Schools pick up a win against Munster at Newforge in the Schools Interpros on Saturday

Representative Friendly: Ulster U18 5 EIRA U18 48 The second match at the Dub on Sunday afternoon featured Ulster U18 Girls against, the touring American side, Eagle Impact Rugby Academy. The Ulster girls got off to a flier in this one as Aoibhin Smith ran half the length of the pitch from a scrum on the half way line after the kick off went directly into touch. Ulster led 5 - 0 with a minute played.

Representative Friendly: Ulster U17 5 EIRA U17 39 We caught up with the U17 Girls Representative Friendly between Ulster and Eagle Impact Rugby Academy on Sunday afternoon at the Dub. With girls at this age grade getting so little competitive rugby Ulster fielded two sides, Greens and Yellows, who played a half each against the American visitors.

Representative Rugby: Ulster 26 Leinster 5 Womens Friendly We caught up with the Women's Representative Friendly between Ulster and Leinster at Portadown RFC on Saturday afternoon. The event was well organised by Portadown who provided an enthusiastic guard of honour and ball girls for the teams who added to the occasion. The match was squad hit out for both provinces ahead of the Interprovincial Series which starts in a fortnight's time with these two provinces meeting in Donnybrook.

Representative Rugby: Ulster U18 Club 46 EIRA U18 17 Representative Friendly We caught up with the Representative Friendly match between Ulster U18 Club and Eagle Impact Rugby Academy at Newforge Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon. We were using the game as a training opportunity for our latest trainee photographers. Unfortunately I did lose track of what was happening on the pitch but the game ended up as a comprehensive 46 - 17 win for the Ulster lads, though the final score doesn't reflect the effort the American visitors put into the game.

Representative Friendly: Ulster 24 Connacht 12 Women Provincial We caught up with the Representative Friendly between Ulster and Connacht Women extended squads at Enniskillen on Saturday afternoon. Connacht were first on the scoreboard in this one, enjoying the early possession and territory until their hooker went over in the corner off an attacking lineout maul after nine minutes.

Representative Friendly: Ulster 19 Connacht 22 U16 Girls Provincial We picked up about 25 minutes of the Representative Friendly between Ulster and Connacht U16 Girls Squads on Saturday afternoon a Enniskillen. Ulster divided their squad into a Blue and Red teams, each playing a half each against Connacht. We were only able to catch the Blue team in action. Jane Feeth breaks clear for Ulster The main action from Ulster was an individual try by Jane Feeth who trailed a break down the centre to sprint clea from the halfway line for the opening score.

United Rugby Championship: Ulster 38 Stormers 34 On a mild Friday evening Ulster played the Stormers at the Kingspan Stadium in their penultimate league game of the season. Ulster were feeling particularly generous allowing the Stormers to race into a 17-0 lead in 8 minutes, courtesy of tries from Evan Roos and Ben Loader and 2 conversions and a dropped goal from Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.

United Rugby Championship: Ulster 19 Munster 22 On Friday evening Ulster hosted Munster in a United Rugby Championship Fixture at Ravenhill. Ulster were on a 4 game losing streak and needed to turn their season around. Ulster started as though they meant business, forcing Munster back. After several drives close to the Munster line Tom O’Toole powered over from close range for the opening score. John Cooney’s conversion had Ulster 7-0 up in 8 minutes.
