A party of four adventurers stands before a deep fog. From left to right, they are the Elezen Dark Knight, Kyo, the Miqo'te Mystic Knight, Alhena, the Warrior of Light, Calco, and the Hrothgar Sage, Makara. Alhena: "This is no natural fog..." Kyo:" Indeed. I sense a powerful presence ahead."

Makara smugly turns to their party leader. Makara: "Then let's hope that whatever it is is ready for us, hmm?"

Calco faces forward, eyes closed as he readies himself for the battle ahead. Calco: "Right. Don't get careless, and don't hold back. No matter what it is."

The party steps forward into the fog. Calco: "Let's go."

Return to Mount Rokkon (Part 6)

This adventure nears its end.

A group of adventurers planning their next move within a temple on Mount Rokkon. Makara: "Guess the path keeps going this way--" Calco: "Wait. Hold on."

Calco redirects the group's focus to a high up ledge behind a massive pile of crates. Calco: "If I'm reading between the lines of Hancock's notes correctly... The path we're looking for is up there."

Kyo silently considers their options for the obstacle at hand, whilst Alhena voices her opinion on the likely treacherous climb. Alhena: "Is there even stable footing atop such a mountain of crates? I should think-"

Circumventing the issue altogether, Kyo simply teleports to the ledge directly in a flash of aether. Alhena: "...Oh." Makara (from out of frame): "What a show off..."

Kyo's (un)natural ability to just warp wherever and whenever strikes again.

A party of four adventurers prepare to fight Yozakura the Fleeting...in the case for the Warrior of Light, again. Alhena: "Who is that...?" Calco: "A specter clinging to this world... No matter how many times I've cut her down, she keeps coming back, just the same as the monsters." Makara: "A ninja, hmm?"

Seizing an opportunity, Makara turns to address Alhena, her chosen words eliciting shock from Calco- Makara: "Watch yourself, Stellazzia. The Geminus boys have a type." Calco: "WHAT!?"

Pushing the subject further with a smug grin, the Hrothgar continues- Makara: "Oh, I have my sources. Like the red on your face right now." Calco: "NOW SEE HERE...!" (this is all in reference to the fact that not only was Calco briefly in a relationship with Yugiri some time ago, but Kyanite is currently seeing Yuki)

The two members of their party 'not' a part of this little discussion converse on their own. Kyo: "Sigh... They'll be at this for a time. Shall we?" Alhena: "Oh, no. I'm rather invested. You go on ahead." Kyo: "So be it."

Whether past events are coincidence or she actually has a point remains to be seen.

A group of adventurers pause their ascent up the mountain upon the discovery of a not spring by the cliff's edge. Makara stands further up the path than the other three, having had no intention to stop. Alhena: "Is that...a natural hot spring?" Kyo: "It certainly appears to be. They're remarkably common on mountains such as this."

Eager to continue, Makara attempts to steer the group back on track, appealing to Calco's typically focused nature. Unfortunately for her... Makara: "Sorry, but no time for something like that. Right, Geminus?" Calco: "...Actually, I would disagree." Makara: "EH!?" Calco: "We've climbed a long way to get this far, and we're not even halfway to the summit yet. We'll need our strength for the trials ahead. A rest could do us some good."

Kyo, attempting to seem neutral, contemplates what he has heard of their nature in the past. Alhena stands beside him, listening with arms crossed and a wide grin. Kyo: "They do say these springs have restorative properties..." Alhena: "Do they truly? Apologies, Makara, it would appear you have been outvoted."

Makara hangs her head in melodramatic defeat. Makara: "Naturally... The one time I need you to keep being your stick-in-the-mud self..." Calco: "If staying dry is truly such a concern, why not simply rest in the sun instead? You have alternatives available to you."

Return to Mount Rokkon (Part 3)

It would seem the expedition has been brought to a temporary halt...but maybe that's not such a bad thing in this case.

A glimpse between trees shoes a few leaf-like monsters wriggling about on the path.

The adventurers pause to take notice of the monsters. Calco shakes his head in annoyance as Kyo addresses him. Kyo: "Did you not clear this path of monsters when last you were here?" Calco: "Strike one down, and in time two more take their place. There's no end to it."

A view showing a larger group of monsters a bit further up the mountain. Alhena reaches for her sword, which is already glowing with magic. Alhena: "Then we'd best ensure we waste little time on them."

How 'do' they keep coming back every trip up the mountain?

Standing at the entrance to Mt. Rokkon, a Midlander and an Elezen converse while a Miqo'te investigates their surroundings. Kyo: "Mount Rokkon..." Calco: "Have you been here before, Kyo?"

A different angle as they continue their conversation. A female Hrothgar stands beside them as the last member of their party, chiming in a moment later. Kyo: "No, but I have heard of it. A holy site fallen victim to malevolence..." Makara: "Aye. Malevolence just follows you at every turn, doesn't it?"

Calco and Kyo both stand with arms crossed, Calco significantly more annoyed at the Hrothgar woman's comment. Calco: "Makara!" Kyo: "No. She has a point."

The Miqo'te turns back to her companions, drawing their attention. Alhena: "Nevertheless, shall we? We've a lot of ground to cover if the mountain's last mysteries are to be uncovered."

With mysteries yet remaining amidst the darkness covering the sacred mountain, the Warrior of Light takes his allies to lift the veil once and for all.
