Pictured: I think the St. Croix river and some bluffs with a jet boat int he foreground. I go outside every few days and pick of trash in the streets of Minneapolis. I know there are a few of us that do it, not enough thats for sure. Over the weekend, thousands went and screamed on a street corner that the world is a mess, and then returned to their lives Sunday. They didn't have to take off work. They didn't have to get uncomfortable. They got to make a day of it and go socialize. Meanwhile, they will take off work for things like a shopping day, or fishing, but not to save a country. Many people will say they have families or bills, not thinking so does everyone else, and yet if we all stopped, what would they do? However, I get purposeful tanking of the economy is not on peoples high priority list..yet, but what about anything else. We consume and create so much trash, we ship it other places. That is the problem with capitalism, it must keep needlessly consuming to work. The world cannot handle more consumption, it needs healing. In this time of global climate crisis, more is needed than screaming on a street corner. Not all of us can solve the crisis, but nearly all of us can pick of trash. In today's world, caring for the planet, for nature, is resistance. In the face of a country that has taught you only to consume and care about yourself, to invest in our planet, not for profit but for healing, is a revolution in its self. The more you invest in it, the more you will want to invest in more. Wild nature becomes wanting to heal human nature. That is love, to care for something that may not care for you back. Unconditional love is showing up for it even when it doesn't want you to. America, the political system, the economy, the government may not want us all right now, but the land does. The land needs your help. Rise Resist Revolt.
