A tree with small medium pink blossoms. They are round, sort of like an old fashioned rose, with golden yellow stamens in the centre. Many are open, and many others are opening.

Good morning from #Ritsurin garden in Takamatsu, where the #ume (Japanese flowering apricot/plum) season is getting under way. I love ume, the first blossom of the season — and have one at home as well.

Happily, jet lag has me at this glorious garden long before any crowds today!
