No, I do not know how it took over 45 years to get an autism diagnosis either 🤣 #Pokopia #RockyRidges
To answer some obvious questions:
Yes, I did this manually with a combination of Graveller, punching, and Magnemite.
It took about 400 salads to restore PP to keep doing this.
No, I don't know what I'm going to build.

Anyway, I think that's probably a pretty good look at what's under there. Ultimately, this isn't something you're meant to do, but I really wish the devs had imagined someone would and actually made the landscape under it realistic.
#Pokopia #RockyRidges
This is the other side from the roof of the museum. It's directly above the big lava pit facing the main museum door, so maybe it’s actually another volcano, but just decorative to loom over the museum? #Pokopia #RockyRidges
I'm confused by these two towers of rock. I’ve drilled straight through the centre of both, and they seem to just be solid rock
Not sure how covered they were before this, so maybe they were specific features, but as far as I can work out they don't house any caverns inside. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
Limestone caves from above. Town area is to the left. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
This is “the box” that contains basically all the underground area with the minecart tracks, lava pools, rooms full of ores and glowing stone etc. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
From the other back corner. You can see just how much of the level is essentially empty. This is definitely the area you could build an entire new city in, with the museum as a focal point if you tear down a rock wall. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
The museum (from above the garden end).
Weird seeing how exposed it actually is. The black rock that forms the cage is relatively little of the encasement and looks really unnatural with the ash removed. One of the most obvious “this is just a set facade” parts of the level. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
More Glowing Stone plains. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
From the right hand side of the whole map, annotated. Reminder, everything below the now floating rock was solid ash. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
This was a (annoying) surprise.
Once you get real deep in the ash, there are hundreds of single blocks of Glowing Stone. Since I was using just regular salads, I wasn't able to break these with Graveller. Which made trying to quickly excavate a massive pain. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
This is from behind the exit gate in the world with this weird 2x1 column of dirt that was fully enclosed in the ash. Maybe they started building a more defined landscape there but decided quickly they didn't need it. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
Reverse angle of the same place. Very clear where the “that’s enough space for what we want to put in the level” is. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
This is the other end of that canyon, so the back left of the area behind the little water farm area that's there when you first arrive. This was the first area I excavated. You can see the depth the ash fills to by the floating rock. This area definitely has potential. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
This is the entire length of the left side (looking from the entrance) of the map. The soil area is where Chef Dente was trapped in the barrel.
These flat walls will be a recurring theme, which makes landscaping these area a challenge. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
(I should clarify that nowhere in the map has random open caverns. This was all solid volcanic ash that needed removed. No "do a couple of layers to make it look right. The devs obviously had a "fill" tool) #Pokopia #RockyRidges
Ok, this is directly above the entrance to Ridges. Here you can see a space they didn't have anything to put in. So this was just solid ash. No landscaping to make the underlying terrain natural looking. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
The plateau above the limestone caves. We start seeing mineral ore deposits here, and some of the rocks that sat on top of the ash. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
Ok, let's start getting weird. This is atop the cliff above the entrance to the limestone caves. We start to see floating blocks of soil. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say that this was cavitation in the soft soil allowing erosion and filling of the space by the ash. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
The entrance area to the mines just feels a little more open. The tunnel in the bottom left is (was?) my direct shortcut to the museum entrance I already had. I recommend making this tunnel regardless as it makes getting back and forth a lot easier. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
The area through to the gate shows how horrifying the eruption might have been. Spaces where houses were, and a picnic table that was fully covered in ash. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
Welcome to Rocky Ridges. As you can see, we've cleaned up a bit, and exposed some of the town a little better. The volcano feels like a bit of a weird shape. #Pokopia #RockyRidges
I decided to excavate *all* the ash from #RockyRidges in #Pokopia. In this thread I'm going to post some pictures of what it's like.
I *do not* recommend you do this. It took me around four days and it's clear the devs did not intend anyone to do this. The world is not designed with this in mind.
