matgeorgewhu The Rose Wylie exhibition The Picture Comes First @royalacademyarts is on for another fortnight, closing on April 19. It's in the Main Galleries in Burlington House, and this is: Pink Table Cloth, Short Shot Film Notes) 2013 Oil on canvas The reviews have been decent, if somewhat patronising about Wylie's age. Some of the comments have been on the lines of, “I could have done that”, but they didn't, and couldn’t. And there were plenty of people enjoying it when I visited.

It's about time the RA dedicated their main galleries to a retrospective by a female painter! The first to have that honour is Rose Wylie, her exhibition The Picture Comes First is on until 19 April.

Saturday afternoon is the right time for a couple of examples of the surprisingly rare art/ football Venn diagram. From the Rose Wylie exhibition The Picture Comes First at the Royal Academy in Piccadilly, central London until April 19. The first is Arsenal & Spurs (2006, oil on canvas). I'm not sure if the shirt numbers are accurate to a specific match. The second is Yellow Strip, also oil on canvas, 2006, featuring Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, Jens Lehmann and John Terry.
