The #McMahonKillings were perpetrated by the #RoyalIrishConstabulary on #ThisDayInHistory in 1922 in #Belfast. Six Catholic civilians were killed (a man, four sons, & a worker), two were wounded, and a woman raped by men in #police uniforms. No-one was prosecuted.
The #KilmichaelAmbush took place on #ThisDayInHistory in 1920, one week after #BloodySunday. #IrishRepublicanArmy militants surprised a division of well-trained #RoyalIrishConstabulary, killing 16 veteran British troops to the loss of only three #IRA fighters: a significant win.
..but barred from re-entry to US after attending her father's funeral in 1950. He was an insignificant (peaceful or quiet district) divisional inspector in the #royalirishconstabulary but there is nothing on him in the #bmhireland except where he had to take care of cattle driving.
