... but Flair also worked with almost EVERYONE who came through the curtain! Great performances as well from Bulldog, Michaels, Piper, Savage (minus the botch), Rotunda and Sid. Maybe all but a couple people were legends or at least big deal for a time.

The Hogan/Sid segment re-aired on WWF TV, with re dubbed commentary of Gorilla grilling Sid ... and piped in heat to make it sound like the crowd was booing Sid.
Big insult to anyone's intelligence!

Hogan and Sid are held back by several officials as the crowd TURNS ON HOGAN! Fully on Sid's side. Watching this at 8 years old this was surreal!!

Hogan works Flair over, Sid just watches .. then picks his moment and THROWS HOGAN OUT!! Crowd is STUNNED! Hogan cries like a baby, and helps his nemesis Flair get Sid out to win. Ugh, thank God this is Hogan's last Rumble appearance!

We are left with quite an awesome field of talent, Flair, Piper, Hogan, Savage, Sid & Martel.
Sid then gets rid of Piper and Martel!! Crowd not happy Roddy is gone. Sid has Macho teetering, Flair helps get rid of him, crowd DID NOT like that.

Sgt. Slaughter is next, he is a face again, but the crowd just seems indifferent to him. Martel gets rid of Skinner. Never cared much for Slaughter until I watched his work in Mid-Atlantic and feud with Pat Patterson in WWF.

And ... Skinner arrives next .. ugh ... Steve Keirn was once a great talent, and a big deal in Florida, and was one half of the Fabulous Ones, who had an excellent run. So yeah, despite the bad gimmick, I'd say he's a legend.

Savage wasn't supposed to go over the top rope, Bobby & smartly cover it, by saying you have to be thrown out.. contradictory to things to what happened before and after that in Rumbles, but still, a good save.

Savage out next and crowd EXPLODES as he bolts to the ring, and tries to get to Jake who leaves the ring, 'Taker (Jake's ally) cuts him off.
Jake comes back in, crowd loses it as Savage beats on him and eliminates him. But Macho screws up leaping over the top rope!

'Taker is out next, gets a very mixed yet huge reaction, as he'd be a babyface mere weeks after this.

Heel Jake Roberts is out next, crowd indeed hates him immensely, I did too as a kid, his cobra bit Macho Man and he slapped Elizabeth!!

It's just Bossman and Flair, crowd is losing it! But Bossman flies out as Flair ducks a charge.
Flair is alone breathes a sigh of relief ... but .... PIPER IS OUT NEXT, and Flair's face is hilarious when he sees him!

Hercules gets rid of Barb, Bossman sends Herc out to collect his last PPV payday, they walk up the aisle together as Herc says, "Hey I got Dusty's number".
Ok I made that last part up. But they did both head to WCW shortly after this.

Hercules goes after Flair, Heenan gets upset, Gorilla snarkingly remarks: "Maybe he remembers how you treated him!"

Bossman arrives to a massive pop, and goes after Flair! And hits everyone with a punch, as Valentine is sent to the indies and eliminated.
Bossman tosses Repo, Flair gets rid of Bulldog to massive boos from the crowd, and then gets rid of Von Erich.

Volkoff comes out looking happy to collect a payday, his first appearance in over a year. Being the smiling America loving babyface, even though he was back to his Russian heel schtick on the indies. He's in for Jannetty.
Repo makes short work of him.

Greg Valenetine out next, despite being low on the card and on the way out, getting a good reaction from the Albany crowd. He and Flair renew their Mid-Atlantic rivalry!

Repo Man is at #10 ... hey, he was Demolition Smash, so he counts as a legend.

Shawn in at #6, this was a week after the infamous Rockers split and Babrber Shop window angle, and gets massive heat from the crowd in his first appearance as a heel.
Michaels and Davey show the great chemistry they have as Shawn works over idol Flair as well.

Haku in at #5, he wasn't on TV at this point and mainly working in Japan, he was a last minute sub for Knobs of the Nasties who got hurt in a bar fight the night before.
He goes after Bulldog & Flair for the 2-minutes but gets tossed.
