A picture of the big screen at twickenham showing England as World Cup champions with lots of smoke and fireworks
Me in my England shirt (2003) and my wife in her French shirt in the sunshine at twickenham.
After losing the bronze medal match, the French team came and sat right in front of us. They cheered for Canada, of course, but they were greater and my French wife was delighted.
Twickenham had nearly 82,000 fans. A record for a women’s rugby match. It was one hell of an atmosphere (and with a lot fewer drunk middle aged me than usual too, which was a huge bonus).
Well, what a bloody brilliant day out that was.
