Competition has moved from March to June, but keeps its format: 4 teams in 6 rounds, from June 13 to July 18.
Then top 2 to the final on July 25
For 2nd year the champ will also face the 🇦🇺🇫🇯 #SuperW winner on a Trans-Tasman face off.

The Chiefs end their season on a high. Pretty fun game where both teams wanted to play and move the ball a lot. The Chiefs, a bit luckier on attack, got themselves a big lead at the start of the 2nd half and Matatū ran out of time trying to shorten it.

2nd win of the season for the Chiefs, that used their usual strat: attack a couple times with the forwards and, if there's no break, send it to Ruby Tui. For the Poua, the same as the whole season: pretty decent defence, sub-par jackaling, attack? what's that?

The Blues errors kept Matatū on the fight while they where weaker, but it was the visitors own quality what allowed them to take the lead in the last quarter and get away with the win. We'll see this two teams fight for the championship in two weeks.

With 2 rounds to go the Blues have already secured a place at the final. They'll receive Matatū this week in what could be a rehearsal for the final.

Impressive start for the Blues with 3 tries in 20', totally looked like it was gonna be a walkover. Chiefs got a pretty one after a grubber by Ruby Tui and momentum changed but score barely moved. Then Portia happened and the Blues took charge again.

Hurricanes Poua vs Matatū 24–43

Really big improvement by the Poua. For 60 minutes. Still problems running the last meters, but points started to come in. 24–26 with 20' to go and then stamina ran out. Matatū was cornered at times, but had patience and talent to exploit every Hurricanes error

Massive defensive effort by Matatū, keeping the Blues scoreless for the first half hour and holding their ground pretty well, but the visitors superior physicality slowly but inexorably grinded them down.

The Hurricanes too slow on the rucks, trying ineffectively to charge with the forwards, and then giving away the ball with a kick. Matatū great on the 1st half and a bit sleepy on the 2nd. They don't always click, but when they do they are so fun to watch.

The Chiefs almost beating the Blues at their own game. First half with a 75% possession gave them a lead. The Blues got up & despite 3 yellows tied the score. Manawa get a penalty at 77' to win, but 2 missed tackles gift Portia Woodman-Wickliffe a try at 79'

The Poua did what they could, but against a team filled to the brim with Black Ferns there's not much left for them. When they played fast they made the Blues make some mistakes, but the visitors where just so physically superior and always got the ball back

Chiefs Manawa vs Matatū 25–31

1st half full of messy scrums. Matatū starting strong and Chiefs without ball, but where the Chiefs who scored first. 2nd half way more lively with both teams scoring great tries. Hannah King converted all while Renee Holmes missed 3 so that was the game.
