Outreach project aimed to help imprisoned people, particularly sex workers (who are high on the list of "unjustly imprisoned people").
Seriously, if you gotta pick just one, this is the choice. ^~
[🧵 CA/USA sex worker orgs. Christmas donations thread.]
December 1 — Why we say their names. “We say their names because memory is power.” Every names spoken resists silence, erasure, and stigma. December 2 — Why we need December 17. Violence isn't inevitable. Violence is preventable. December 17 matters because safety requires change—law, culture, and community. December 3 — Criminalization creates violence. Criminalization = Violence. Decriminalization = Safety. Laws should protect, not endanger. December 4 — Stigma kills. “Why was she there?” is the wrong question. The right one: “Who hurt her, and why wasn't she protected?” December 5 — When justice isn't justice. Justice denied = Violence continued. Sex workers deserve safety, dignity, and justice—no exceptions. December 6 — Stories of survival. Survival is not silence. Every story told is prof that we are not invisible, and that we are not powerless. December 7 — Building our own safety. When systems fail, we keep each other alive. Buddy systems. Bad-date lists. Mutual aid. Community safety is real safety. December 8 — Resilience as resistance. Every act of joy is an act of defiance. Resilience = Resistance. December 13 — How allies can show up. Donate, show up, listen, amplify, advocate. December 14 — Funding justice, not violence. Stop funding raids. Start funding rights. Justice means funding sex worker-led solutions. December 15 — Memorial, not just mourning. From mourning to movement, our grief is resistance, our resistance is power. December 16 — A world without violence. Imagine safety. A world where sex work is work, and no one's life is disposable. December 17 — Closing reflections. Much has changed. Much hasn't. But together, across every line of politics and faith—we can end the violence.

They say if we decriminalize sex work, traffickers will flood in. 🚨 Sounds scary, right? But it's not true.
‣ The Evidence (Australia) New South Wales, Australia: decriminalized since 1995 • Reduced police corruption. • Safer working conditions. • No trafficking boom. (Source: NSW Government Review, 2016)
‣ Who gets hurt by the myth ❌ Sex workers: Pushed underground, more vulnerable. ❌ Survivors: Arrested instead of supported. ❌ Children: Funneled into detention, not care.
‣ The bottom line Decriminalization doesn't cause trafficking—it helps fight it. It's the evidence-based path to safety, dignity and justice.
