It's still new and fun, but you have that solid basis there to feel comfortable understanding

Often when I'm watching shows now, I feel very unsatisfied and distrustful because the writers often write things like they're trying to subvert every trope
Like oh okay yeah i'd never have guessed [unexpected thing] would happen because it's STUPID

I never felt like the writers were trying to "trick me" when they did a mysterious cold open, it just made me very intrigued, and I had trust built up from knowing they HAD A PLAN for each season, an arc that made sense plot wise AND thematically

I would say something to my husband like "ohhh that scene is framed the same way as this other scene from the start of the ep!"
then I would listen to the commentary after and Vince Fuckin Gilligan would be like "Yeah we specifically wanted to mirror that scene from earlier"

As a viewer it was profoundly satisfying, because it felt like I was watching something that was a conversation with the viewer, and those things were INTENDED and made sense in the end

I think one of the most satisfying parts of watching BrBa was that Vince Gilligan and the team he assembled are all adept at using cinematic language and writing tools like foreshadowing, mirroring, subtext, allusions, etc etc etc and then having it PAY OFF
