I am working on a fantasy setting, #Sakieni, developing a story and characters within it, which would also be a prequel to a potential TTRPG campaign in the same setting. You can see me mainly on #ocsky, sharing trivia
On #Sakieni, that would be "The Great Fire, which turned the eastern part of the Shalean jungle into a desert.
A historical agreement is that the fire was caused by the conflict between Birdfolk and Felinefolk living on the opposite sides of the river that separates two halves of the jungle.+
On #Sakieni, all magic but cosmic magic is "filtered" through goddess Ru'Ari, The Celestial Authority of Magic, as the spell is cast. This prevents people from casting spells they're not physically capable of whitstanding, or spells that defy divine will.
Goverments only regulate Chrono/Necromancy
Most of #Sakieni has multigenerational feudal, though as some people leave for big cities such as Maroka or Skyward Nest to work/study, they often settle down there in smaller apartaments, so in those locations the idea of a nuclear family seems to be emerging.

- Elven & Faerie Language were the first languages ever spoken on #Sakieni. It has quite a specific situation because said Elves and Faeries arrived to a new, empty world, bringing an already developed language with them
- Next came the Dragons and their Draconic Languages, one seen as "universal"
Time runs normally on #Sakieni for the most part, however, it is technically possible to manipulate it.
Underneath the Crystal Ball that Sakieni is located in, there is a PHYSICAL clockwork mechanism. If one could move it physically or magically, one could pause, speed up or rewind time. +
"The Outer Ring" a literal ring-shaped, stone formation surrounding the mainland of #Sakieni, neigbouring the walls of a Crystal Dome.
It's a place of banishment for criminals, but they somehow created a civillisation of their own there. Average Mainland citizens only know rumours about it.
