It is often in different systems that do not align, which creates burden for staff and results in delays to patients getting the timely care they need. The Federated Datra Platform is software that sits across existing data systems, making it possible to connect the system and data together. This allows staff to access the information they already hold in a single, secure place. The use of the data is and will always remain under the full control and protection of the NHS. The security of the information in the platform, is of course, being treated very seriously. The software introduced is protected by new Privacy Enhancing Technology (NHS-PET). NHS-PET has been procured from a different supplier to the Federated Data Platform. We recognise your concerns around Palantir as the chosen provider of the data platform. The system was chosen through an independent procurement exercise (conducted by NHS England) and they assure us the choice of supplier was the result of an assessment by many different individuals and with strict criteria about the lawful and ethical handling of data. NHS England will continue to monitor the handling of data in the platform, as part of normal governance processes. The Trust is using specific Federated Data modules to aid us with our data visibility and insights. It is not the only data system we use, and the Federated Data Platform does not have any control over our electronic patient records. We are open with the populations we serve on all the data systems we use to manage NHS data and this information is available for all to see on our website.

I worked in the NHS and it was so much better for patients and staff in 2010 and before. By 2018, waiting lists were sky high, staff moral was low, vacancies high and wages dropped. This is how you undermine the NHS.
