Denge sound (acoustic) mirrors. Built in the late 1920s/early 1930s as an experimental early warning system for incoming aircraft but as aircraft speed increased they were superseded by radar. The largest circular dish measures 9m across.

Hexham Old Gaol, the oldest purpose-built prison in England, opened in 1333. It was built using stone from the Corbridge Roman site. It closed as a prison in 1824…fortunately for my 4-legged friend, who weighed up her chances with some pheasants!
