EXT. HOME OFFICE BUILDING - LIVERPOOL - DAY Brutalist gray for a brutal place. An imposing flight of stairs sweeps up to a gaping maw of an entrance. Dark-tinted windows above - and not many of them. Intimidation by design. And by God it works. Nervy in the rain, GRACE (20s, well-named), dressed in her best (cheap office-wear worn with care) musters her courage and climbs. A moment’s hesitation at the revolving door. In she goes... INT. HOME OFFICE BUILDING - CONTINUOUS High ceilings and brushed concrete. Baffles hang from the ceiling - muting chatter, but not the incessant BEEP of metal detectors and security gates. Grace joins the queue - drags her eyes away from the silvered security cameras. Don’t look suspicious. She stares at her shoes - sneaks peeks at the OTHER PEOPLE (mostly young, varied ethnicities) ahead of her. BEEP. BEEP. The PERSON ahead shuffles forward. A FEW MINUTES LATER Grace holds out her arms - forces her face blank as the SECURITY GUARD (man, 40s) runs a wand over her hips. He slows as he moves it down her leg, enjoying her discomfort. Slides it up her inner thigh. Grace fixes her eyes on a spot on the wall. Face stony. SECURITY GUARD Go. Grace goes. Out of the frying pan into the... INT. GREEN-PAINTED WAITING ROOM - DAY Windowless, with rows of heavy-duty moulded plastic chairs - bolted to the floor. A machine spits out a ticket. 3-104. Grace takes it. Sits. A wall monitor reads 3-099 - Kiosk 1.
