If you are going to treat your anger with herbalism, I'm going to ask why.
Anger is one of my favorite emotions.
It brings change.
Every other emotion doesn't force movement as much as anger. Anger is there for a reason.

Ohhhh thank you @ravinewhispers.bsky.social for bringing up one of my favorite spiritual shadow allies,
Helleborus Niger - Hellebore
I'm going to show you how I personally work with this plant π€ π§΅πΏ

New post up on my patreon. I have quite a few allergies so I do understand how frustrating it is to want to work with a plant but the body says no.

#Herbalism isn't just about physical healing. It's psychological and somatic. The herbs are active partners, not just tools. They touch ALL the levels, working with the full Pattern.

Where things grow is where they are needed most π€πΏ
Skunk Cabbage (Symplocarpus foetidus) grows in the Eastern United States. In #ShadowHerbalism, we work with this plant in healing ancestral baggage due to the deep grief of colonialism. #WitchSky
Anger is very complex. It always comes from grief, loss of some kind. Of what once was, what should have been, or what should be... It always comes with, "WHY??" There is no herbal remedy for anger. There are a TON. Depending on cause and feeling. They get highly specified #ShadowHerbalism #WitchSky
Went on a bit of a rant on the Patreon this month about Lilly of the Valley and how herbalists keep dismissing it π

I just love working with Black Nightshade. π€πΏ
So powerful in its way of understanding self-boundary setting around the temptation of escapism.
Guarding truth vs delusion, the self vs other... brilliant psychic development ally to ground the intuition into this reality.

A group of hydrangea blossoms spanning from blue to vibrant pink. With their leaves as a background.
Oh the beautiful garden hydrangea, spanning continents for thousands of years. Overlooked in magic because they are "just a garden plant" but oh what powerful Medicine it carries. π§΅πΏπ

My potion to let go of perfectionism.
Lemon balm, vervain, rosemary, chamomile, calendula and nettle. Infused with lapis, citrine and moonstone. Sitting in a charged sigil while soaking in the herbs. Balsamic moon timing in virgo. Or with Saturn in Ares.

Right now I'm experimenting with Pinus spp. in regards to integrating and accepting shame. Has anyone had any experience with the flower essence or raw herb for this yet? I know Wood has mentioned it a few times.

Finally started that #shadowherbalism community on reddit to go more in depth about things. Check it out if you feel called and any tips are appreciated as I have no idea what I am doing ππ€£π

#Shadowherbalism is not a way of seeing the plants apart from their physical actions. It's a way to see additional special indications of clients. It's another tool in the tool box, along with medical astrology, palmistry, pulse reading, tongue diagnosis... It's part of the holistics, The Pattern. πΏ
I just had an #herbalism client that really needed a #shadowherbalism touch and I wanted to share haha
So one herb that isn't talked about often is Cornflower. It's cultivated in many countries but endangered in it's natural environment. It got in the way of production #witchsky (1/2)
I've noticed that libras/risings have this... paranoia? about what other people think of them? Like their shadow selves are very worried about others and how they are perceived from others... and Oregon Grape is an EXCEPTIONAL paranoia shadow herb for this. #shadowherbalism #Witchsky
When I look at a client chart (part of my intake process), I look for many clues that match herbal actions. Venus in 6th house Pisces, with Sagittarius sun, and Chiron in 12th? That's a LOT of leaky energy. How are those vericose veins in your legs doing?

I use the leaves as tea as well! But witchhazel as an astringent on your face, when you put it on, you can use the mantra "it's safe to let go" and you'll really feel her work her magic. Hazel is a lovely tree that helps us understand when we can let go β€ #shadowherbalism
Hyssop is so healing for those who needed a mother when they didn't have one, or were neglected by their own.
She is this warm embrace of pure, unconditional love we all need. Our inner child craves this energy. Just pure forgiveness and acceptance π€

Self-Heal (Prunella vulgaris) is such in underrated #herb.
It's perfect for understanding that "Wounded Healer"'s mark. Chiron in 1st house or conj asc. For those who've been at it for sooo long, they are almost ready to give up.
#Witchsky #astrosky #shadowherbalism
I had a client come to me recently for uncontrollable thoughts. They were OBSESSED with another human. The #OCD was rampant, they had this idealised version of a person that was unreal. This was a classic Waterlilly/Cleavers client.

My top three #herbs for allies and support during the extremely deep practice of soul retrieval, or picking up pieces of the soul that were left in the past from trauma:
St John's Wort
Self-Heal
Mugwort
Powerful allies for a powerful practice.

A βοΈ βοΈ, βοΈ π client blend I just prepared:
Knotweed: 2 parts
Mugwort: 1.5 part
Holy Basil: 1 part
Licorice Root: 1 part
Yarrow: 1 part
Specifically to release stubbornness and understand that their way is not the only way. Knotweed is the star in this one.

Hawthorn is one of my favorite heart healing herbs for very specific clients. These clients are a bit guarded but quick to jump to others protection. They stand up for the ones who can't. They've also known loss and they know how it feels to be misunderstood.
#shadowherbalism #Witchsky
The Catnip client smiles.
They smile and smile and smile while their world burns. They are so uncomfortable with emotion. Everything is fine. But things are not fine. And they have the HARDEST time admitting this.
The catnip client often cries holding their first dose.
#shadowherbalism #witchsky
My "big three" for anger and shadow emotional release are:
Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora)
Blue Vervain (Verbena hastata)
California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica)
At least one of these go in a potion for a client dealing with anger, barring counterindication.

The doorway to Self is a great tree; the ego being the trunk, the roots: the shadow, and the branches: the conscious mind.
The Self is the full integration of all three pieces of the tree. The roots, branches, and the trunk together. Each piece as important as the other.
#shadowherbalism #Witchsky
Every herb has a deeper wisdom, that aligns with different parts of the Self.
Each of us have our own shadows.
But once you find that ONE ally, aligning with that specific signature, the support it can provide because of the synergy in energies is phenomenal.
#Witchsky #shadowherbalism
I'm going to start posting more #shadowherbalism posts. It's my favorite connection with the Pattern. How everything fits together... potionwork, astrology, herbalism, shadow work, plant spirits, and psychology.... all in one. The Pattern of the universe. #witchsky
What is your connection?
For my fellow #herbalists, the Doctrine of Signatures works with personalities, too π±
The Cleavers personality is a bit clingy. They have trouble "letting go" of other people, even when they are being dragged through the dirt.
Just like the plant π€
