Claressa Shields vs Lani Daniels Fight Results: Shields Scores UD on DAZN In a masterclass display, the GWOAT pitched a shutout. Claressa Shields executed a commanding and clinical performance in her undisputed heavyweight title defense against Lani Daniels, dominating every phase of the bout and methodically overwhelming her opponent en route to a decisive, one-sided unanimous decision victory Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. One judge scored the bout a clean 100–90 in favor of Shields, while the remaining two submitted 99–91 scorecards—scores that seemed more like gestures of generosity than reflections of the fight itself. FightsATW had it a decisive 10–0 sweep for the five-division world champion.

Claressa Shields vs. Lani Daniels: Weigh-In Results & Betting Odds We now officially have a main event on Saturday night for the women’s undisputed heavyweight crown live on DAZN. The champion Claressa Shields (16-0, 3 KOs) will defend her titles against Lani Daniels (11-2-2, 1 KO) in a scheduled ten-round fight at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI. Although Shields has remained busy, the talent pool is small in women’s boxing, so Shields and her team have to search diligently for an opponent each time. Johnson, Louis, Patterson, Ali, Tyson, now Claressa Shields Claressa Shields adds her name to an illustrious list of American undisputed heavyweight champions ahead of a title defense against Lani Daniels. ‘The GWOAT’ defends her clutch of belts against Daniel on July 26 in Detroit, knowing her legacy is already secured. A multi-weight undisputed ruler, Shields has battered down the door between male and female boxers, and moving up to the top division is the icing on the cake. Claressa Shields alongside heavyweight greats Promoter Dmitry Salita is keen to ensure Shields’ considerable achievements remain noted in the minds of boxing fans. At the press conference ahead of the fight, Salita rang the bell for his fighter, naming the Olympic gold medalist among the greats. “Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Floyd Patterson, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Claressa Shields. The undisputed heavyweight world title has always been linked to American greatness and American champions,” Salita pointed out. “It’s very difficult to win it, and it’s much harder to keep it. The last American heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, lost a fight not long ago to Joseph Parker. “You know where he’s from? He’s from New Zealand. Hailing from New Zealand, Lani Daniels is the reigning IBF Light Heavyweight World Champion. “She’s determined. She’s skilled. She was the 2024 New Zealand Sportswoman of the year, and she has nothing to lose and everything to win. “Across the ring, we have two-time Olympic gold medalist, three-division Undisputed World Champion, and current Undisputed Heavyweight World Champion Claressa Shields making the first defense ever of the women’s heavyweight title, right here in Detroit on July 26 live on DAZN. “The City of Detroit and the state of Michigan have been home to some of the greatest fighters in the sport. “The Joe Louis Fist in Downtown Detroit is one of the symbols of the city. After producing fighters like Tommy Hearns and Floyd Mayweather Jr., Detroit experienced a standstill with no great fighter to carry the city forward. Then came along Claressa Shields.” Shields back at home Shields (16-0, 3 KOs) faces Daniels (11-2-2, 1 KO) as an overwhelming favorite. And as much as Salita is enthusiastic, the reality of winning the undisputed heavyweight champion in the male ranks is a polar opposite. However, take nothing away from Shields; she can only defeat what’s in front of her, and she continues to break boundaries. The 30-year-old has significantly enhanced the female side’s top division at a time when the weight classes were dormant and underutilized. Flint’s favorite daughter is now ready to put on another show and extend her unbeaten record to 17-0 next month. “I fought here in Detroit last year when I knocked out Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse for the heavyweight title. Never in a million years did I think I would be fighting at heavyweight,” said Shields. “I remember when it was first announced last year that I would be competing at heavyweight, it got a really big buzz. That’s when I took notice of all the other heavyweight fighters for me to face. “The girls in the heavyweight division are not afraid of me, which is good because the girls who were a little bit smaller were intimidated. “Now, at heavyweight, I am getting the bigger fights I want. I’m coming off a victory against an opponent who was highly avoided by everyone in the heavyweight division, Danielle Perkins. “The only person who didn’t avoid Danielle Perkins was me. I went in there and whooped Danielle Perkins.” “At first, I thought this fight wasn’t going to be made. I got an email from my manager, Mark Taffet, and he said she didn’t want to fight. “So, I DM’d Daniels asking if she was scared of me. She said she was a little scared of me, but she could beat me. “I don’t think there’s a woman in the world who could beat me,” added the champion.” Daniels Coming in with considerably less razzmatazz from down under is Daniels. The 36-year-old is well aware of the task she faces. “Thank you, Claressa, for agreeing to fight me. Everyone knows who Claressa is, and it’s an honor to share the ring with her. “My team and I respect boxing, and we respect you. We are planning to come here next month and win. “I’ve been preparing the best I can to give a mean fight. I know it’s going to be a mean fight,” stated the challenger.
