A rectangular shaped painting depicting 3 or 4 thistle plants at center, with three red blossoms and a single bud. Next to the thistle plants is a much shorter plant with two blue flowers. At top left is a dragonfly; at top right is a butterfly. At bottom right is a barely discernable frog, drawn in gray ink. In the front, toward the bottom left and between the two different plants, sits a snail, also in gray ink. The background of the painting is gold.
