Last weekend, across the country, in small towns and big cities, we held over 60 rallies calling on local leaders and our community to pledge to protect and resist Trump's antidemocratic and immoral agenda.

Our SURJ circle was tasked with encouraging a local official to sign the pledge to protect her community from harm and resist the hateful policies of the Trump administration. We asked newly elected state legislator Rebecca Kassay, and while she did not commit to signing the pledge she did offer to come speak at one of our meetings. This rally was held at a busy intersection in Suffolk County on Long Island, notoriously red for New York. But we got lots of encouraging beeps from passing motorists.
