Old photo of The 6888 Battalion.

In the photo are some of the bravest hardworking black women who got the task of getting mail that our government wasn't doing anything with from the start to our soldiers in the field and to their families back home.

Wrap your head around how our government didn't bother to get mail to those fighting for our freedom. And from those fighting to their loved ones.

The 6888 had to devise a way to figure out how to get mail that was so damaged and destroyed that simply finding an address on the envelope was impossible. 57,000 pieces of mail got returned to sender in the first efforts.

The women in this photo deserve to be honored and celebrated and respected as the highest ranked US soldier.

Instead they faced racism, hate, and conditions that you can't imagine facing. They got zero acknowledgements and treated as if garbage by our government.

Eventually they got some recognition. Sadly way to little way to late in my eyes.

The image has the commanding officer facing towards the right in the left side of the photo. With some of the Battalion visible just behind and to the right standing at attention facing forward. This image is black & white with text floating in the middle center sating "6888" And under that the words "Thank You"

The importance of what these wonderful women did for the war effort may have been the needed boost to give our fighting forces that needed boost of encouragement only found from our loved ones.

Our government to this day fails on many fronts to protect all its people and caters to the elite entitled rich and powerful. This as proven with these women is a huge mistake.

The #SixTrippleEight was an awesome movie full of #BlackWomen full of resilience. To bring morale and hope to America at a time when it was not reciprocated is a way of showing love and dedication.
