Do Lower Speed Limits Reduce Car Crashes? No One In SF Looked Until Now The 10-year Vision Zero pledge didn’t make streets safer. But on some roads, ‘20 mph is plenty’ marked a big shift. Here's what we found.

Check out this deep-dive on what's happened where speed limits have been lowered to 20MPH in SF.

While drivers don’t always heed speed limits, lower limits are a crucial layer to #SlowOurStreets, and research shows they are particularly effective in bringing down the most dangerous, outlier speeds.

Just Over Half of SF’s Speed Cameras Are Operational. What’s With the Slowdown? | KQED The cameras will issue $0 citations for the foreseeable future, while San Francisco will try to get all the cameras online.

Every day speed cameras aren’t fully activated is painful because we know how high the stakes are. Speed kills.

We desperately need speed cameras to start doing their job in reducing dangerous driver behavior and saving lives.

While we don’t know if speed was a factor in this tragedy, we do know that a speed camera coming to Geneva Avenue will go a long way in protecting lives by slowing down drivers.
