A work in progress shot of a landscape sample with Brunhilda on it looking bemused as to why she’s there.

Several different flocks and grass tufts have been used to vary the tone and appearance.

An artists impression of the Snorrastofa fortified compound. Steve church on the right and the main compound on the left. Several different types of building are in the main compound including storehouses, main hall, workshops and living quarters. Bottom left there is an outdoor jacuzzi 😬

I’ve got special project underway for the Snorrastofa museum in Reykholt, Iceland.

8x4 model of a fortified viking compound in the 12th-13th century and, like the Gradara project, there's a dedicated page on the website.

Episode 27b – Icelandic Impressions of the Sagas (Interview with Sigrún Guttormsdóttir Þormar of Snorrastofa) In this special Saga Brief, we visit historic Reykholt, once home to Snorri Sturluson, for a fascinating conversation with Sigrún Guttormsdóttir Þormar, department manager at Snorrastofa. This interview is the second installment in our four-part series recorded on-site during our recent trip to Iceland. Sigrún generously met with us on a Saturday to talk about Snorri’s life, legacy, and the important work being done at Snorrastofa to continue the long tradition of learning at Reykholt on the site.

We traveled to Reykholt to sit down with Sigrún Guttormsdóttir Þormar, department manager at Snorrastofa, for a deep dive into the life and legacy of Snorri Sturluson—the maybe not so "infamous" 13th century Icelandic chieftain, writer, lawspeaker.
