The #SpielMas ⛄️ festival was born during a annual camping trip at Limekiln State Park during the summer of 2020, just south of this slide. We formed a bubble, played #boardgames, and celebrated our remarkable privilege in the face of a pandemic.

How it started: 68 games, 10 titles, total of $4,296.60 (MSRP). All because of a post I made on Instagram that got their attention.

It’s Day 5 of the @spielmas.com festival, and I had a variety of game play with friends. I was able to get in nine holes at a local disc golf course. Then later that night, I joined my weekly online gaming group who has been gathering since 2020 and were the inspiration for #SpielMas ⛄️.

I was surprised for day 5 of #spielmas when my daughter, unprompted, grabbed Planet and Calico from my shelf and asked to play them. Planet has been sitting unplayed for a while, and I’d been wanting to teach my girls to play Calico, so we dove right in.

Day 4 of #spielmas found me home alone for most of the day but I didn’t let that stop me from celebrating. I played an epic game of Final Girl that came down to the final health tokens. After dinner, everybody was pretty tired but we managed to play a quick game of Flip 7.

We broke out a classic for #spielmas day 3. I haven’t played Carcassonne in 5 years so I sat down with my wife and kids and played a couple games. My youngest daughter won the first game and my eldest daughter won the second.
