This year, Miriam’s family sent out invitations for their annual Passover Seder—not just to relatives, but also to loved ones beyond the Jewish faith. Among those welcomed was Phaedrus, Miriam’s boyfriend, a Pagan practitioner, and—much to everyone’s astonishment—a satyr. When Miriam first mentioned that her boyfriend would be joining, her family nodded in polite acceptance.
