The Cabin in the Woods is my favorite kind of lovecraftian horror movie where the main characters are just constantly doing the wrong thing. #spookydays

Summer of 84 is a movie I'm pretty sure almost no one saw but I really enjoyed. I like the simplicity of a world without cell phones and what seems like typical high school hijinks. #spookydays

The Babadook is one of those modern classics, it watches just like a film from the 50s or 60s. It's simple and the horror is constant. The first time I watched this was with a group of friends and one of them decided to scream during one of the quiet parts and I tossed my drink on him. #spookydays

Bodies Bodies Bodies was soooo fun to watch and did a really good job of being Super Gen Z without making a fool out of itself. #spookydays

Beetlejuice is such an enigma of a movie to me. I didn't even realize it was a Tim Burton film until recently. I think I may have watched it with some cousins as a kid but it didn't really stick with me until I watched it a few weeks ago. It's a super fun and spooky art piece. #spookydays

Signs is another movie that I basically saw because I'd seen Scary Movie years before. It was still pretty good and creepy, but it was so hard not to laugh at some of the scenes I'd already seen parodied #spookydays

I'm usually the first one to skip a slasher; but You're Next was actually a ton of fun to watch. #spookydays

I Saw The TV Glow definitely has the arthouse vibes that A24 is known for, and I'll admit I didn't totally understand it when I watched a few weeks ago. The trans/queer undertones definitely missed me when I read discussions about it later. #spookydays

I watched Alien recently in preparation for Romulus (which I did not end up watching) and I cannot get enough of Sigourney Weaver #spookydays

I love, love, love UFO stories and this movie does a great job of keeping it simple and straightforward. #spookydays

Annihilation is another one of those movies that I watched while pretty high and don't remember much of... I do remember it beeing really eerie and not liking all the body modification stuff they did with it. #spookydays

Another classic! I really had no idea what Rosemary's Baby was about going into it but we watched this for a movie night a few years ago and I really loved it. Mia Farrow's look is such a slay #spookydays

Another Spanish-language film from Guillermo Del Toro, this movie tracks a degenerative disease that impairs the main character's vision. As her vision deteriorates, the audience's perception of her world diminishes as well. #spookydays

The Orphanage is a Spanish -language film from Guillermo Del Toro that balances excellent storytelling and an all-consuming mystery as a mother searches for her missing child. #spookydays

If I'm watching Zodiac with friends who haven't seen it before, I always check to make sure they're not prone to nightmares because this movie scared the shit out of me. #spookydays

Jodie Foster's performance in Silence of The Lambs did a great job of capturing an agent's attempt to be a sharp and highly skilled professional while constantly dealing with sexism from other agents and confronting the margins of the human psyche in Hannibal Lecter. #spookydays

It's really hard to reflect on Stranger Things as a whole when the first season really was so different than the rest. It's iconic television but I feel like the latter seasons stole some of its thunder.

Granted, I really liked seasons three and four. #spookydays

I'm so glad I got to watch this before my medical anxiety spiked because I think I'd find it really hard to watch now... I really like the short-story aspect of the show a lot more than the overall plot. If there's a season 2, I really hope they develop the story a bit more #spookydays

Midnight Mass is one of the shows that I'll show friends when we're looking for something new to watch. I felt so stupid that I didn't realize the "twist" from the beginning of the show. #spookydays

The Haunting of Bly Manor just made me sad. I got so attached to these characters and the story just hurt to watch. Hill House tactically made use of a lot of jump scares, but Bly Manor's genius is in its subtlety and emotional journey. #spookydays

The Haunting of Hill House really kicked off my love of long-form horror. So many horror movies try to fit so much into 2.5 hours and that can make it feel cheap and forced. Having 10 hours or so to tell a story really lets you connect with the characters and live with them for a bit. #spookydays

I ended up watching Creature from the Black Lagoon after an online book club had "The Lady From The Black Lagoon" on their list. It's a super interesting biography of Milicent Patrick's uncredited work and sexism in the film industry.

The movie was fun but definitely showed its age. #spookydays

We honestly need to get back to making movies like Poltergeist. This is another film I didn't watch until the last few years and I'd probably thought it was going to be too corny to be worth watching. #spookydays

Nope was a ton of fun, I love this take on a creature feature and blending of other traditional elements of sci-fi and horror with the old/new styles of capturing the monster on film.

I will admit though, I spent 99% of the movie staring at Brandon Perea. #spookydays

I loved Us, I think Jordan Peele really wanted to dive deep into the more traditional/scarier sides of horror and he just had a ton of fun with it.

It's not a movie that's meant to make you overthink everything, it's just fun and terrifying. #spookydays

A follow up to one of my favorite movies! Doctor Sleep is great because it does a great job balancing extending the story/universe of The Shining and also returning to where everything started. #spookydays
