After seven minutes, the virtual assistant announces: "Please be aware; that the maximum queue time will be reached in 3 minutes time. If we can’t connect you by that point, then we will need to disconnect you from this queue and ask you to try again." Then inevitably, three minutes later: "Sadly, you have now reached the maximum wait time for our chat service. To avoid any further inconvenience and delays we have now closed this chat. Given the exceptionally busy period; we would recommend that you either - try chatting with us in a while; or if your query is not urgent, please try one our other contact channels. Thank you for contacting us today."
Doubting whether #SportsDirectUK has any humans at "customer services", once you get past the basic AI web chat. Four times today I've tried to get through; I'm always booted out after their 10 minute queuing timeout. With their website also seemingly forgetting I exist, it inspires zero confidence.
