#squarespacetip today is my honest review of Squarespace Invoicing
✅ Pros: it’s free, you can track projects, it connects to contact form submissions
🚫Cons: Squarespace isn't an invoicing software company so there aren’t advanced features, the design choices are lacking 🫠 What are your thoughts?
#squarespacetip You can’t change your Squarespace 7.1 template after you’ve gotten started, but you can change your design. Change the colors, the fonts, the layouts. But whatever you do - don’t believe the clickbait that say it’s an easy switch 🤥 that is a straight up lie.
#squarespacetip for sharing a link to your site before you publish it to your domain. The link in your browser that ends in /config - that’s the Squarespace program. When sharing a link with others, remove that part so it’s just “something. squarespace. com”
#squarespacetip Fluid sections are the only type of page section that can have a different mobile design, but it's not as flexible as you might think 😬 You can resize, reposition, and layer content blocks, but you cant change the content itself for smaller screens #Squarespace #WebDesign
#squarespacetip Custom CSS changes the style of your site - not the way it works. You can use custom code to do things your design menu can't handle, and it wont break your Squarespace site. Learn the basics at
#squarespacetip Make your own linkinbio page so you can track your social media traffic! Create a page in the not linked section of your site and optimize it for mobile, adding the content you'd want on a linkinbio page. Optional: remove the header and footer nav so it's simplified. #diywebsite
#squarespacetip Make an elements page in the not linked section of your site that has all your heading text, button styles, images, and other content blocks you'll use on one page section. Duplicate that section, change it's color theme, and then you'll see how cohesive your design really is 👀
#squarespacetip You have a LOT of font options in the design menu. Click on assign styles and you'll find a list of 85 text options you can customize. Font family, size, weight, etc; you have a lot more options than you might realize! #fonts
#squarespacetip for anyone who suffers from FOPWT - Fear Of Picking the Wrong Template 😬 Every Squaerspce 7.1 site has the exact same features. Templates are just different design choices, so look at your fonts, your colors, and try different layouts if you want to switch.
#squarespacetip did you delete a page on accident? You have 30 days to recover it! check the trash section of your pages menu. 🗑️ This does not apply to blogs, events, or other collections, but it’s good to know for other pages! #whoops
#squarespacetip create a custom 404 page to keep visitors engaged when they hit a dead end! 🚧 Make a custom page in the not linked section of your site with custom info like helpful info. Then go to Pages → System Pages → 404 Page and pick your page from the dropdown.
#squarespacetip use the built-in announcement bar for temporary messages! Find it in Website → Website Tools → Announcement Bar. Perfect for sales, shipping updates, or holiday hours. 📢
#squarespacetip quick image tip: click any content block and hit the spacebar twice to open the editor! No more hunting through menus and endless clicks to make simple changes. 😅
#squarespacetip for saving time: you can duplicate so many different things in Squarespace! Content blocks, page sections, pages, blog posts, projects inside portfolios, individual events, product listings... the list goes on. Oh yeah - list sections. 😉
#squarespacetip Organize your blog by utilizing categories and tags! Categories appear in your site's navigation, while tags assist with search. Both can be used to filter related content in summary blocks. Think of categories as sections and tags as labels. #BloggingTips
Double #squarespacetip for the day: event sections, services sections, and portfolio sections don’t automatically connect to event pages, service listings, or portfolio collections. Those titles are labels and have nothing to do with the content 🫠
#squarespacetip when you upload an image - a thumbnail, a list item image, even a background - you’ll see a little white circle in the middle. That’s your focal point! If your image gets cropped, you’ll wanna move this circle to the part of the image you want in the center; crucial for mobile 🙌
#squarespacetip Squarespace is built on a 12 column grid, with a 2 column minimum, so you can distribute content blocks evenly in a set of 2, 3, 4, or 6.
#squarespacetip you can use drop-down folders to organize pages in the not linked section of your site! I’ve got three main ones: landing pages, specialized forms, and legal pages

#squarespacetip did you know you can have a dark mode favicon in addition to your regular one? (That’s the little icon in the browser tab that’s next to your site title.) Upload a light mode and dark mode version at settings → website → favicon. Pro tip: make it a 1:1 ratio png thats under 300px
#squarespacetip one of the coolest things fluid engine can do is let us make mobile specific changes, like vertical alignment! If your accordion block looks a little wonky on smaller screens, this can help. 🙌
#squarespacetip there are some cool keyboard shortcuts that you can use when you’re editing fluid engine, like showing the grid, duplicating a block, and adding a text link. There are more, but these are my favorites… that also fit on the image 😅 Stay tuned for more 🙌
#squarespacetip for anyone who spelled a URL wrong, like I did, in an email to 15,000 people 🫠 Set up a URL redirect so they go to the right place! Settings > Developer Tools > URL Mappings. 301 is a permanent move, 302 is temporary.
#Squarespacetip for the day: /opens your program search! When your logged into your site, you can press the / key at anytime to search for something in the program (not your content) With Sqsp moving things around all the time, it’s a fast way to find what you need, like CSS or cookie settings. 🍪
