A favorite line of Hepburn’s from #StageDoor that I’m known to use:
“You don’t have to be a chicken to tell a bad egg.”

I love the way she knocks the ash off the end of her cigarette ev’ry once in a while. I like how Hinds matter of factly asks for the check. And I love the way Hepburn says “Awwww” just as the scene fades into to a dissolve.

“Stagedoor” is one of my fav’rite movies.

I wait for this scene in “STAGEDOOR” ( 1937 ) between Samuel S. Hinds and Katharine Hepburn playing father - daughter. Not just b’cuz I love my Sammykins so much. 😍 But the scene between him and Kate sounds so very natural.

I love the ending of the movie. Hepburn burn has settled in to being one of the gang, Ginger & Gail still give each other as good as they get & a new Broadway hopeful comes to the house.

I like the Wheel-of-Life continuing to spin aspect of the ending as we fade out.

I’m not a big fan of “BRINGING UP BABY” - too frenetic and Hepburn is too shrill fo me. But here in “STAGEDOOR” her tone is pitch perfect.

I love LOVE this quiet scene between her and my Sammykins. Look at the way Hepburn ends the scene. I can see her talking to her own Dad this way.
