We visited C12th St Michael's Church, Playden and spied their most interesting staircase/access lader, built in 1686. It has some interesting etching and dates, its no longer in use but still stands.

We popped past Bodiam Castle and couldn't not get a snap of one of its fine stairs in the South West Tower.

The Persius Speicher on Zeppelinstraße in Potsdam was built in 1843 as the Proviantamt (provision office) for the Potsdam garrison. It was designed in the Norman castle style (Burgenstil) by the architect Ludwig Persius, a notable student of Karl Friedrich Schinkel and the royal architect. The building complex is situated just a few hundred meters from Sanssouci Palace and was part of the royal Prussian military supply infrastructure.

This photo captures an architectural scene distinguished by a warm yellow ochre palette that unifies the structure’s exterior surfaces—the walls, columns, and arches—all rendered in variations of rich, sunlit yellow. The use of this dominant yellow color evokes a welcoming and historic atmosphere, drawing the viewer’s eye to the building’s classical details.

In the foreground, a fluted column anchors the composition, its vertical grooves reminiscent of classical Greek or Roman architecture, providing a sense of solidity and timeless elegance. The entrance is approached by a set of wide stone steps guarded by simple black metal railings. These stairs lead to a door framed by an arched stone surround, which echoes the curvature of the nearby archway on the left. Above the doorway and arch, exposed wooden beams run horizontally across the ceiling, adding texture and depth to the yellow-washed walls.
